FIRST EXPEDITION TO ANTARCTICA
In 1910 a British explorer called Robert FalconScott sailed for Antarctica.But Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen was heading for the South Pole as well! Amundsen started earlier but Scott had more men. Amundsen's team skied and used dogs to pull thier sledges. Scott's team puled sledges themselves.Amundsen's team reached the south Pole First ,on December the 14th 1911. Scott arrived about a month later, but he had taken too long.He and his men died of cold and hunger on the way back. -
