  • Missouri Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise was in 1820. This was when Maine wanted to become a state in the U.S. However that would uneven the free and slave states. So Missouri wanting to be a state came in as a slave state and Maine came in as a free state.

    Nat Turner's rebellion was a big cause leading to the Civil War. Nat Turner was born in 1800 and was determined that he was chosen by god. Then in August 1831 he meet with other slaves and killed approximately 55 men, woman and children.
  • Texas Annexation

    The Texas Annexation happened in 1845 when Texas came into the U.S as a slave state.
  • Mexican American War

    The Mexican American war happened because Mexicans were on U.S land in Texas and this rilled up the Texans and we started to fight. The first meet was in California and it just grew from there on. This was a big part of the road to the civil war.
  • Compromise of 1850

    The Compromise of 1850 was a series of 5 laws. This includes California becoming a free state, a strengthening on the slave fugitive act, popular sovereignty in New Mexico and Utah, the abolition of slave trade in D.C and the federal assumption of Texas Debt.
