  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War

The first blood of the war occured in 1754, but they did not officially declare war until May of 1756. The war had started because they were fighting over control of a lot of North America. Soon, arguements over frontier policy, and war expenses lead to dicontent, leading to the American Revolution.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    It was said to be beneficial to Native Americans and Great Britain but, said to cause harm to the colonists. The proclamation was set up to help with the Native Americans fears of westward expansion. Even George Washington didn't see it. He thought that the expansion was just anti-British sentiment leading up to the American Revolution.

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was passed by the British the new tax was on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used like Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed. The stamp act helped the american revolution because of the direct tax on the colonists led to in America over an issue that was to be a major cause of the Revolution. And the stamp act ended 1776.

    The series of acts included duties on glass, paper, tea, lead, and paints. They had hoped the acts would decrease tax, but instead the Americans viewed it as a abuse of power. In 1770 the acts were allowed, except for tea tax, and had a temporary truce before the American revolution.

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight that was between a "patriot" mob. The attack began when a group of about 50 people attacked a British sentinal. The shots fired during the attack lead to the American Revolution.

    The Tea act was considered the final straw in many unpopular rules and taxes enforced by Britain of America. The tea act was the reason the Boston Tea party happened. The act was imposed because the British were deeply in debt, leading up to the American Revolution.

    The Boston Tea Party was an American defiance against taxation. On the night of December 16th, 1773, Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty, boarded three ships in the Boston harbor, and threw 342 chests full of tea into the ocean. This resulted in acts in 1774, pushing the two sides (Britain, and America) closer to war.

    Intolerable Acts
    Four of the acts were issued because of the Boston Tea Party. The British Parliament had hoped that these acts would help stop resistance to British authority, that had begun with the stamp act. The tension escalated, becoming one of the factors of the American revolutionary War.

    Lexington and Concord
    The first military engagement of the American Revolutionary war were held in Lexington and Concord. One of the famed myths of this time was that a man named Paul Rivere yelled "the British are coming." Many of the Americans living there still considered themselves British, which would confuse them.     The Declaration of Indenpendence was made by a five-man committee. The three commonly known people there were, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Bejamin Franklin. They were told to write a formal statement of what the colonies wanted. The people during the American Revolution were fighting over different things.
