French and Indian war
The French and Indian war ocurred for about seven years. It was refered to in the colonies as the beginning of attacks between different countries. It helped lead to the American revolution because of debt and taxes. The correct day and month is unknown. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation was on October 7th. It was issued by the British King George III. The Proclamation helped lead to the American Revolution because it state that Native Americans wouldn't have to worry about westward expansion making colonists angry. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was a new tax that said American colonists must pay for every piece of printed paper they use. It helped start the American Revolution because of the standard it seemed to set for the colonists -
Townshend Acts
The Townshend Acts were a series of acts in American colonies. They involved many taxes on many different items. The taxes on these items made colonists angry and said it was an abuse of power over colonists. It lead up to the American Revolution because of all of the pointless taxes. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was in the colony of Boston. A group of angry colonists threw snowballs at British soldiers. The soldiers then fired at the colonists and 5 colonists were killed. The Boston Massacre helped spark colonists wanting Indepence in America. -
Tea Act
The tea act was passed by British Prime Minister, Frederick, lord North. This helped lead to the American Revolution because the colonists seen making the tea cheap as another act of bad of taxes. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was an act against the British over taxes. Many colonists boarded the ships dressed like Indians. This was a great event that made many people angry and helped to start the Revolution. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts occured after the Boston Tea Party and was meant for soldiers to punish the Boston Colonists for thowing the tea into the ocean. The soldiers acted through new laws for the colonists that the would not like. -
Lexington and Concord
Lexington and Concord were colonies involving battles with General Thomas Gage. He sent 700 British soldiers to Concord to take control of Patriot supplies. The Patriots had heard about Concord and 70 Patriots stood to fight. The first shot was fired and was called "The shot heard around the World" This event is rememered as the start of the American Revolutionary War. -
Declaration of Independence
The declaration of Independece was a document that let America separate from Great Britian. Many people signed the document including John Hancock, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.
