The Quartering Act of 1765 required colonies to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies colocists Disliked being forced to provide quarter for the troops so theyrefused to follow this law.The troops then were quarter in public places instead of private homes soliders had to pitch tents in the Boston commons eventually leading to street fights and then the Boston Massacre.
