Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 forbided any settlers from settling past a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. It lead to the American Revolution by showing that England was starting to take a intrest in the rest of the united states. -
The Boston tea party
A group of angry patriots snuck aboard 3 tea ships and dump 342 chest of tea into the Boston harbor to protest the British parliaments tea act. This angered the British so the Boston harbor was closed until it was all paid in full. -
Stamp Act
It was an act that new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they use. It helped lead to the American Revolution by angering them and pushed them to believe that the British parliament was somehow conspiring against the colonies. -
Townshend acts
The Townshend Act was an attempt by the British government to show physical and political power over the American colonies by placing import taxes on many of the British products bought by Americans, including lead, paper, paint, glass and tea. -
Boston massacre
A group of colonist gathered Infront of the Costoms house in Boston and began taunting the British soldiers. The patriots were protesting the amount of soldiers occupying boston. Someone threw a club and a soldier fired. The soldiers killed 5 unarmed patriots. -
The Tea Act
The British Parliament passed the Tea Act, a bill designed to save the failinf East India Company from bankruptcy by greatly lowering the tea tax it paid to the British government and on the American tea trade. Because all legal tea entered the colonies through England, allowing the East India Company to pay lower taxes in Britain also allowed it to sell tea more cheaply in the colonies. -
Intolerable acts
They were a series of 4 acts put into order by the British parliament. The goal of the ct were to restore order in Boston and punish the Bostonians for the Boston tea party. This made the colonist even angrier with the British. -
Lexington and Concord
The british soldiers marched from there baracks for lexington Concords with orders to arrest the rebel leaders and take away any weapons but little did the red coats know Paul Revere was riding ahead of them warning every town that the 'the British were coming" and were told to hide Their weapons. -
Decloration of independance
Congress declared independance when this was signed in Pynsilvanina.
