history.com The French and Indian War started because the British felt like they needed to prevent the French from gaining control over territories and trade that the British thought was rightfully theirs. The English leaders gave London more control over the colonies which was a part of the resentment towards British policies that led to the American Reveolution. -
End of the French and Indian War
history.com The French and Indian War ended when the representatives of King George III signed the Treaty of Paris in 1763. This led to the American Revolution because when the French got defeated, the colonists relied less on the Britains for protection. -
Proclamation of 1763
history.com King George III issued the proclamation, which closed off the frontier for colonial expansion. The king presented the proclamation to calm the fears of the indians, who thought the colonists would slave them for their lands as they expanded westward. This led up to the American Revolution because the proclamation banned settlement west of the Appalachians, and then most people's feelings were anti-British. -
Stamp Act

Townshend Acts
history.com The Townshend Acts imposed duties on glass, lead, paint, and papers imported into the colonies. Many American viewed the taxation as an abuse of power. After they repealed the Townshend Acts the two sides actually were in agreement. -
Boston Massacre
Ushistory.com The Boston Massacre was a riot between the unwelcomed British soldiers and the colonists. The British soldiers shot and killed five colonists. This led to the American Revolution because when the British killed the townspeople this increased the colonists motive to fight. -
Tea Act

The Tea Act lowered the price on tea so much that it became less than tea from other companies. The American colonists saw it as another "taxation without respresetation". This led to the American Revolution because the Tea Act led to the Boston Tea Party, which was a sign of resentment that the British did not appreciate. -
Boston Tea Party

They were protesting because they were angry there was a tax on tea. This led to the American Revolution because they were angry they wern't seeing any benefits coming from the taxation. -
