  • F+I War

    F+I War
    The French and Indian War was apart of a larger global conflict called the Seven Years War. The French and British had the most territorial disputes within North America during this war. Although the British lost majority of the initial battles they ultimately won the war. The war caused relations to worsen between the British and the Colonists. The colonists were angry with the Proclamation Line of 1763 and the taxes they were forced to pay.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    Description: The British Parliament passed the Sugar Act in 1764 in order to help pay for their debt from the French and Indian War as well as to pay for the troops guarding the Proclamation Line of 1763. It forced the colonists to pay a 3 cent tax on goods like sugar, coffee, indigo and certain kinds of alcohol. The colonists were not happy with this law because they had no say in parliament. The slogan “No Taxation without Representation” became popular in the colonies.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The British Parliament passed the Stamp Act in 165 in order to support the British soldiers protecting the Proclamation Line. Stamp Act required that a stamp purchased by the British government had to be placed on all important documents like court papers, newspapers and even playing cards. The colonists were outraged because they were paying for troops that were keeping them out of the land they had just fought for in the French and Indian War and they still had no representation in Parliament.

    Sons of Liberty
    A well-organized political organization shrouded in secrecy that was established to undermine British rule in colonial America. This group spang up in port cities like Boston and NYC. Group member were men from all walks of life, and they were known to be hot headed and violent.
  • The Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts taxed imported items such as paper, glass, paint and tea. The English Parliament passed this act to cover costs of the French and Indian War, as well as to show that they still had power over the colonies. The colonists were outraged with this act so they held public demonstrations, boycotted products and smuggled in goods. Parliament eventually decided to repeal this act because of colonial protests.

    The boston massacre was in accident on march 5 in which british army soldiers shot and killed people while under attacked by a mob. It was a street fight.It was between the patriot mob. They were throwing snowballs, stones, and even sticks. Because several colonist were killed it caused this to lead to campaign by speech writers.

    The Tea Act passed by parliament on May 10 of 1773.The Colonist would not pay the 3 cent tax. The British East india company tea a monopoly on tea sales in the American Colonies. Along with ta the Townshend Revenue Act also taxed glass, lead, oil, paint, ect.

    The Boston tea party was a political protest by the sons of liberty. It was in Boston. In 1771 a group of colonist protest thirteen years of increasing british oppression the attacked merchant ships in boston harbor. British closed the port and inflect even harsher penalties.

    It was names used to describe a series of laws relating to britain's colonies in north america. It was passed by British.They were upset because of the boston tea party and other things as well. The british parliament enacts the coercive acts.

    It was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the 13 colonies who meet from the date above. Everyone except for the georgia dependant to british military's for supplies. Georgia was not fighting the native american uprising.

    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    It was a first military engagements of the American revolution war. The Americans won the battle. British retreated back to boston. The battle was important because they were sent to confiscate colonial weapons. They defeat 700 british soldiers. This battle caused the British and king george lll that unjust behavior would not be treated or tolerated in America.
