    Cause: The British wanted to claim the French´s land and the Ohio Valley
    Outcome: The French were kicked out of America and the British gained control of the Ohio River, the West of Alleghany Mountain, and Florida. The Native Americans rebelled and they were in great debt.

  • Pontiac´s Rebellion

    Pontiac´s Rebellion
    The rebellion of the Native Americans against the English
    Cause: The Native Americans were apalled when they found out that the French loss the war. They believe that the French treated them with honor and equality while the British did not. The British also permitted settlements on Indian territories which led to further distrust between the two.
    Outcome: Chief Pontiac launched attacks against the English forts. They failed to drive out the British. The Proclamation Line was established.
  • Proclamation Line

    Proclamation Line
    The line placed along the Appalachian Mountain to divided the Indian land and the British to reward them for helping the British during the war. The line was issued by King George lll.
    Cause: It was suppose to be a temporary border to reserve land for the Indians. This prohibited white settlements on the other side.
    Outcome: To create this border, the British had to establish posts along the Line. The Colonies had to no interest in paying high taxes. They were fustrated and ignored the line.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    To raise the tax of importing sugar, wine and coffee.
    Cause: 1)Stop smuggling of foreign sugar 2)Control the American Sugar Market 3)Benefit England with the money
    Outcome: The colonists were going through post war depression and were unhappy with the British starting taxation in the Colonies without their opinion. Eventhough this was half the Molasses Tax (1733) the coloists refused to pay.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The act on putting Stamp Tax on all documents and printed material. Was when direct tax first started.
    Cause: England wanted more income.
    Outcome: This affected only on the rich and educated. The colonists burned the tax collecters, tarred and feathered them.
  • Quatering Act

    Quatering Act
    An act issued by King George lll to provide the British troops in America beer, rum, cider, money, and private homes outside of the city.
    Cause: When the soldiers are in the city, they have to seek accomodation from public buildings but when they go out of the city, they don´t have living quarters to stay in.
    Outcome: The Colonists were furious and thought that England wanted to limit their freedom, again! They refuse to pay for the homes.
  • Sons of Liberty

    Sons of Liberty
    The Sons of LIberty was a group of rebelling colonists, formed to oppose the Stamp Act. These people would burn stamps and threaten the British officials because they dislike paying higher tax for England. Boycotting became poopular among the Merchants in New York.
  • Stamp Act Congress

    Stamp Act Congress
    With the colonies´ economy deteriorating from the boycotts and attacks on tax collecters, Britain had to halt the Stamp Act.
    Outsome: Unified the colonies and freed them from high taxes
