Stamp Act
An act that made sure all legal documents , contracts, and licenses had a stamps. This gave them another reason to tax the citizens, and they obviously didn't like that. This caused citizens to force stamp agents to resign being taxed directly was a "problem". -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a riot created from the citizens of Boston, it was due to the people of Boston disliking the British soldiers. About 50 citizens had teamed up and decided to go up against them leading to 3 deaths and 8 casualties. After being hit with snowballsThe British Soldiers soon moved out of Boston. -
Intolerable Acts
Intolerable acts had been consisted of numerous acts that changed/helped the colonists. For example the Boston Port Act,Quebec Act, Auartering Act, Massachusetts Government Act, and the Administrative of Justice Act.These acts had effects that shaped the colonies. -
Boston Port Act
The Boston Port Act had made it so that no ships were allowed in Boston Harbor. Thia had discontinued buying and selling from Boston and a big majority of Massachusetts. Any ship that had entered was looted and anything needed was considered as the British until money was paid. -
Administration of Justice Act
The Administrationof Justice Act was one of the Intolerable Acts This act was a set of laws that helped with the questionable acts of the execution of the law. Its basically an upgrade of the laws tha were confusing and making it clearer to make governing easier. -
Massachusetts Government Act
The Massachusetts Government Act was one of the Intolerable Acts. This act had taken away the colonies charter so there was more royal control.The king was given more power to "appoint" and "dismiss" the councils. Royal governers or leaders had more power then before the act had begun. -
Quebec Act
The Quebec Act was also apart of the Intolerable acts. The act was so the needs of the French Citizens in a better way and to re-do the Canadian Borders for trade. Colonists obviously saw the negative and thought of it as an act to take away land. -
Quartering Act of 1765
This was one of the Intolerable Acts as well, the Quartering Act had been an act making it that all colonistshad space for british soldiers to accomadate them. -
First Continental Congress
Fifty-Six representatives had met to talk about the Intolerable Acts and help out the people of Boston.Alot of problems were discussed that they needed to be solved, like Declaration of Rights and sending it to teh king. -
The Shot Heard Round the World
After Paul Revere had announced that the "British were coming" a man named John Parker had gathered about 137 people to wait for the British.Once the British had arrived a shot was fired it was unknown what side had fired first but it had changed history.In the end eight had been killed and ten were hurt.
