Salutary Neglect
Salutary Neglect means that Britain did not do anything for the colonists. The British just let the colonists do what they wanted. Later on they took it off and started taxing them because of the massive war debt. -
French and Indian War
The war was over who got what land because the British needed supplies to send back to the king and they needed land to claim. The French allied with the Native Americans but so did the British. They wanted to have territory to claim. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation came into effect after the war because the British king did not want colonists to settle past the Appalachian mountains. The settlers end up disobeying the king and trying to settle past the mountains. -
The Stamp Act of 1765
The Stamp Act is a tax on the paper products. The British needed more money because the war efforts put them in debt so they started putting taxes on paper products and more. -
Quartering Act
What this act does is that if in a war and a soldier needs a place to live then you must give up a room for the soldier. If you have no room then he can't live there. -
The Stamp Act Congress of 1765
In this act the colonies have the same rights as if you were born in Britain. You are going pay the same as if you were there too. -
Declaratory Act
The act is saying that in America you can't change te rules you have to foolow the rules like if you were in Britain. If you try to disobey them they will arrest you. Parliament ha sall the power govening them. -
Townshend Act
The act is a tax on most things in the colonies because the British need more money. The wars really put them in debt. The colonists are slowly getting tired of these taxes. -
Boston Massacre
There were British soldiers in Boston and these soldiers were not welcome there. The colonists started throwing things at the soldiers and the soldiers started to get angry so one shot his weapon. The one shot started the rest of the soldiers to shoot. -
Tea Act
The tea act was the final straw that would lead to the American Revolution. The colonists were so mad that they did this. -
The Boston Tea Party
The colonists got so mad over this tea teax that they dressed up as Indians and dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor. The colonists wanted to show that they don't need the British. -
The Intolerable Acts
The British sent tons of troops to put down the rebellion and give the colonists no rights so just trying to shut everything down. -
First Continental Congress
All the colonies sent people to be in this congress but Georgia did not. The meeting was to show that they are going to fight back against Britain. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The British went to Lexington to take out the reebellion and to Concord for gunpowder. The Battle there really made the want to stand up against the British. -
Second Continental Congress
They wanted to final get away from Britain so they met for a second time to declare themselfes free from britain when they signed the declaration of Independence. -
Declaration of Independence
The Document they signed said that they are separating from the British. The British no longer can control this area. -
Common Sense
The book Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine. the book was challenging the the authority of the British and asking for independence from Britain. -
The American Revolution Ends
The British finally give up on trying to take the colonies back. The colonies are finally on there own. The colonies make there own decisions now. The treaty of Paris is signed. -

The treaty was put together to show that the colonies were not Britains anymore it is the Colonists now.
