Etruscan kings ruled Rome during this period. During this period, Rome was divided into patricians and plebeians. -

The republic
The patricians didn't like the ruling of Etruscan's and rebelled against them. They created a senate and consul in which only patricians could participate. -

The Plebeians rebel
The patricians government never benefited the plebeians. Tired of this, the plebeians went to a nearby hill and they would come back if the patricians would met their demands. -
451 BCE
The Twelve Tables
The Plebeians asked the Patricians for the laws to be written in twelve tablets so they couldn't change the rules. They agreed in 451 BC. -
287 BCE
Plebeians gain equality
In this year, Plebeians finally could make laws for all Roman citizens and with that they gained equality.
