    • Rome left Jersalem in APril 70 CE, a roman general Titus lead the way.
    • Rome took over Jersslem in 63 BC by the general Pompey *Emporer Hadrian eventually banned the jews to live in Israel which could be connected to other emporers banning Christianity.

    • Religous leader in christianity believed to the christians he is the incarnation of God. *Christians believed that Jesus is the Christ or Messiah who was promised prohphets from the Old Testament

    • he grew up in a town called Nazareth, which is found in Israel
    • The Romans were the ones who exacuted him.

    • Considered one of the greatest religious leaders of all time.
    • Immensely helped the spread of the religion.

    *The Great Fire of Rome started on July 18 64 AD and ended on July 23 64 AD.
    *The fire started in the shops inside the Circus Maximus.
    *When the fire was gone 10 districts out of Rome's 14 were ruined, 2/3 of Rome had been destroyed.
    *Nero blamed a group of Christians for the fire, even thoguh people think it ws his fault.
    *It was hard to contain the fire because a lot of the buildings were flamable.

    • She wrote the Passions of Saint Perpetua and Felicity which was a journal about her time in imprisionment
    • She is held high in the Christian Chruch because of her actions and has helped the religion spread.
    • She died in Carthage, Tunisia

    • He was a Roman emperor from 306- 307 AD *He was known for being the Christians first emperor because he aceepted Christianity and made it into Rome's main religion
    • He had a vision of a cross in the sky before a battle, he then started to belive that God was going to portect him and help him win the battle.
    • Worked to spread the religion and made the edict of Milan. *Ruled the Empire even longer than Augustus did

    Great Persecution of 303 CE
    *Also known as the Diocletianic
    * It was the very last persecution of the Christians in Rome.
    * It is estamied to have killed 3,000- 3,500 Christians over the time.
    * The emporers Diocletian, Maximian, Galerius and Constantius issued verdicts that replaed the Christians legal rights.
    * Christians were then commanded to worship Roman Gods.

    • This was a battle between Constantine and Maxentius
    • This impacted Christianity because Constantine won and he was the ruler that thought the religon was good and made it spread quickly. *It took its ame Milvian Bridge because it was the route Constantine took to get over the Tiber River.
    • This is the battle when Constantine hadthe vision of a cross in the sky, when he first believed in Christianity
    • The winning of this battle made Constantine the sole ruler of Rome

    • This letter atopped all the persecutions of Christians it also ened the age of martyrs *After this letter Christianity spread super fast throughout the empire
    • This letter was the outcome of a political agreement that was settled in Milan.

    Emperor Theodosius
    • Emperor Theodosius made the Edict of Thessalonica which made Christianity the offical religon of Rome.
    • He was the last emperor that controlled the eastern and western halves of Rome.
    • He died on January 17, 395 AD because of swelling in the body. *After his death the two parts of Rome were se[erated again.
    • He was able to campaign against the Goths and other barbarians.
