The battle of the Milvian bridge was between Constantine and Maxentius. This battle turned the tides of the war which would make Constantine the ruler of Rome. Constantine never believed in Christianity until he had a vision where he saw a giant cross in the clouds foretelling him he would win the battle. Not long after winning the battle, the edict of Milan was signed allowing Christianity to progress, eventually becoming world-wide. -
