    Rhine Bridge created

    Rhine Bridge created
Julius Caeser, a Roman commander, along with his legionaries built the first two bridges to ever cross the Rhine River. This river was seen as a natural border to the Romans making them feel safe. Showing Rome's hardworking and power, 40,000 of their soldiers built one bridge within 10 days using local lumber. The bridge was eventually taken down by Caeser after hearing that the Sugambri and Suebi tribes were coming together to meet his army at battle. The bridge was up for 18 days.

The efforts put into this historical factor is not something you would see today, which makes this 760 mile river a big part of history.
