Treaty of Paris, 1763
Treaty that ended the French and Indian War. France gives up its North American colonies. All the land east of the Mississippi goes to England. Spain gives Florida to England. -
Proclamation of 1763
England forbids colonization west of the Appalachian Mountains. -
The Sugar Act
A law that raised tax revenue in the colonies for the crown. It increased the duty on foreign sugar imported from the West Indies. -
Quartering Act
This act forced colonists to house and provide for British soldiers. This is including housing and feeding the soldiers. -

Was a moral victory for the colonists where they held Breed's hill for three attacks from the British before leaving because they had no ammunition. -

It was a petition meant to stop the British from further hostilities. -

It was the declaration that the colonists were separating from the British and that they were becoming independent. -

It was the battle that decided that the United States would win, because of the defeat of Cornwallis and his 7,000 British soldiers in Yorktown. -

Was a treaty that stated that the United States was recognized as a independent nation.
