  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    On March 5, 1770 American Colonists gathered at the Customs House in Boston, taunting the British Soldiers. Protesters, who called themselves Patriots began protesting for the liberty of their city from British troops who were sent to Boston on 1768 to enforce Unpopular taxation.
    On 1775 the American Revolution began when British troops battled with American Militiamen at Lexington and Concord. The British were ordered to capture Leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Town Act was an event that was introduced into the English Parliament by Chancellor of the Exchequer Charles Townshend in 1767.
    The Townshend Act had imposed tax on glass, tea lead and paper imported into colonies.
    In 1770 Parliament abolished all the Townshend duties except for tax on the tea.
    This had lead to a temporary truce between the two sides years before the Revolution.

    The Gaspee Veseel
    On 1772 Colonists were angry that the Townshend Act had restricted Trading.
    The Gaspee had been pursuing American Captain Thomas Lindsey's from Newport.
    That evening they had shot Scottish Captain William Dudingston, leading to the burning of the Gaspee.

    The committee of Correspondence were inter colonial governments.
    The first of these governments was formed in 1772 in Boston.
    Since the ending of the French And Indian war Boston had become hotbed of Radicalism.in 1773 the Committee was charged for managing the Tea Crisis.

    Boston Tea Party
    On December,16 1773, 342 crates went overboard in an act of political protest.
    The protesters were railing against the Tea Act, which had a high tax on the the Tea being shipped into Boston.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts
    In March an angry English Parliament passes the first version of the Intolerable Acts.
    The Boston Port shuts down all shipping to the Boston Harbor until Massachusetts pays the owed taxes on the dumped tea.
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    The American Revolutionary war started on April 1775 to November 1783.
    The War was fought between Great Britain and the British American Colonies.
    The colonies were split into Loyalists and Patriots.
    The majority of the battles were fought in Lexington and Concord.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The English Parliament passes the next series of the Coercive Acts.
    This series included the Massachusetts Regulating Act and the Government Act virtually ending the colonies self-rule.
    Instead the English Crown and the Royal Government assumed political power exercised by the colonists.
    This lead to the Administration of the Justice Act which protects royal officials in Massachusetts fro being sued by colonial courts.
  • Quartering Acts

    Quartering Acts
    On June 1774 a anew and improved version of the Quartering Acts had been passed by the English Parliament requiring all the American Colonies to provide housing for the British Troops.
    On September Massachusetts Governor Gage seizes the Colonies arsenal of weapons at Charleston.
  • Coercive Acts

    Coercive Acts
    on September 17 Congress declares opposition to the Coercive Acts saying " they are not to be obeyed".
    On October 14 a Declaration and Resolves is adopted that counters the Coercive Acts, the Quebec Act and other measures taken by the British that Undermine self-rule,
