  • Concord and Lexington

    The Lexington and Concord was against the Redcoats and Colonists they gathered minutemen on their way to Concord. Someone shot first, but we don't know who did. The British won, but then the Colonists surprise attacked them, causing the British to retreat.
  • Bunker Hill

    The battle on Bunker Hill was a battle against the redcoats and the colonists. The colonists chose this Hill to use for the battle and had limited gunpowder, so they were not allowed to shoot until they saw the white in their eyes. The Colonists lost because they ran out of gunpowder, but did great damage by pushing back the redcoats for however long they could.
  • Siege of Boston

    The Siege of Boston was when the Colonists surrounded Boston with cannons without the British knowing. When the British woke up, they thought the Colonists were powerful so they abandoned the city.

    The battle at Princeton was when the Patriots took 868 Hessian's captured and 300 British troops.
  • Monmouth

    The Battle of Monmouth was against the British and Patriots. The British were leaving Philadelphia and the Patriots chased them and Washington used his troops to push back the British across the Hudson to NYC. This led the war to be pushed back to the original spot the war had begun.
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga was the place where Burgoyne planned to attack the Colonists, but took too long on the way so was forced to be surrendered since Washington found out and had prepared.

    Valley Forge was when the Colonists won this land and had to survive a very horrible winter. The winter caused low food, clothing, etc.

    The Freed African Soldiers were African people who were freed to become soldiers for the Colonists. They fought in wars and after them, some states changed their rules to no slavery as well.

    The Treaty of Paris is a formal document that is used to end a war and must be signed and written out. This Treaty of Paris was used to end the war against the British and The Colonists and give Colonists rights like freedom and etc.

    Clinton takes over the Carolina's was when Clinton started a campaign and he took over south Carolina then left Cornwallis in charge.
