    Texas Revolution

  • Sam Houston

    Sam Houston
    Houston was appointed organza the republic's military forces. This military would soon become one that made history being led by a Texas hero.
  • Texas War of Independence

    Texas War of Independence
    After taking Fort Goliad from the Mexicans in 35' the worst of the war occurred during the winter of 1835-36 at the old presido. After fighting to to try and secure the Alamo but instead defeated, they encountered Mexican forces. Fleeing from the Mexicans, they soon got captured and were prisoned for a week and soon to be executed. Three to Four hundred Texans los their life March 27, 1836.

  • Battle of the Alamo

    Battle of the Alamo
    Starting on February 23rd to March 6th of 36' in San Antonio Texas, Mexican forces defeated Texan volunteers. The battle of the Alamo is remembered to this day because of the passion and bravery of the Texan volunteers but also because of the famous battle cry "Remember the Alamo"
  • Battle of San Jacinto

    Battle of San Jacinto
    Led by Gen. Sam Houston defeating the Mexican army lead by Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. This battle ensured the success of American settlers in the Texas Revolution. After Houston's plan to attack the Mexican army they resulted in a victory among them fleeing and capturing multiple soldiers including Santa Anna himself.

    Mirabeau B. Lamar was the third president of the Republic of Texas and fought at the Battle of San Jacinto. Lamar was inaugurated on December 1st, 1838.
