Women March on Versailles
An angry mob of 7,000 armed working women marched from Paris to Versailles. They chanted "Bread". They hated Marie Antonette for her lavish feasts and lifestyle while the people of France were starving. This is when Marie was rumored to have said "Let Them Eat Cake". Pivotal event in the French Revolution. -
Attempted Escape to Austria by Royal Family
King Louis XVI and Marie Antonette tried to escape Paris by posing as bourgeoisies. Escaped to the small town of Varennes where they were arrested. -
War is declared by France on Austria
French troops lacked organization and discipline. Austria (allied with Prussia) quickly invaded France andbegan to march on Paris. Battle of Valmy was the turning point for French forces. It was one of the republic's first victories. -

Head of the Reign of Terror. Overthrown and arressted by National Convention. Him and his 21 followers were killed by the guillotine. -

After he established Napoleon code, he established French empire. Supported until he started loosing battles. -

Abdicates the throne. In treaty of Fontainebleau was banished to the island of Elba. -

Meeting of ambassadors of European states- Chaired by Austrian statesmen Klemens Wenzel von Metternich. Held in Vienna from September 1814- June 1815. Objective was to form peace plan for Europe.
