Proclamation of 1763
King George, Chief Pontiac and many colonists were involved. The Crown was trying to get people to not move West past the Apalachain Mountians. -
Stamp Act Of 1765
An act that made colonists pay taxes on the stamps on shipping items and legal documents. -
Townshend Taxes and the Boston Massacre
Townshend Taxes were a non obvious taxe at the ports that taxed paint, lead, and about 50 other items.
Boston Massacre was a fight between a lot of colonists who were protesting and a few British soldiers, one the British shot, after knocked down the British shot and 5 dead colonists and 6 injured as a result. -
The Boston Tea Party
As a result of the Tea Act of 1773, which was the British only allowing the East India Tea Company, colonists dumped 342 tea chests, which equates to about 15,000 pounds of tea, into the Ocean. -
The Intolerable Acts
Laws that were not ment to punich the colonists but they took them that way. They were used to strip Massachusets of it's self goverentment and historic rights. The Quebec Act was letting the royal gobernment in Canada have land near the Ohio Valley, making the colonists mad. -
First Continental Congress
55 delegates from 12 colonies got together to discuss the grievances that Great Britian has caused the colonies. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
First Millitary confrontation between the Americans and the British during the Revolutionary war. "Shot heard around the world". -
Second Continental Congress
They created an army that would fight fo the Revolution, George Washington lead the delegates that met. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
Bloddiest Battle of the Revolution, over 1000 British soldiers died, and over 400 Americans died as well. -
Thomas Paine's Common Sense
A pamphlet written for the common people that asked Britian for Independence. -
Declaration of Independence
A Declaration stating the independence from Britian and stating the reasons of independence from the crown. -
Battles of Saratoga
It was actually 2 different Battles, Freeman's Farm and Bemis Heights. These were the turning points in the war that gave America the advantage. It also gave the French faith in the Americans. -
Battle at Yorktown
The French aided the Americans by blocking out suppies to British troops. This led to negotiations that ended the war. -
Treaty of Paris
Britian ceded all the land west of the appalachain mountians, and Britians Prime Minister resigned. Thsi was the offical end to the Revolutionary War.
