The Sugar act imposed a tax on all sugars, causing sugar to cost more. The colonists were enraged by this as they had no representation and no say in the matter. They felt as if they were being robbed.

This prevented the colonists to make their own form of currency instead being forced to use England's form of currency. The colonists were mad about this as it greatly affected how their own economy functioned.
  • Stamp Act

The Stamp Act enforced taxes on any legal documents, papers of any kind, and playing cards. The Colonists were outraged that they were being taxed without representation again, they pushed for the removal which they got in 1766.
  • Declaratory Acts

The Declaratory Act stated that the British parliament had full authority to impose any type of acts they wanted on the colonists, in all cases. The Colonists were too busy celebrating the fact they were able to abolish the Stamp Act, but were outraged when they found out about it.
  • Tea Act

The Tea Act placed taxes on tea, giving an unfair advantage to British merchants looking to sell their tea to colonists. This lead to many colonists out right boycotting tea.
