Day One
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school, met my mentor teacher, discussed expectations going forwards.
9:00-10:15: English 30-1. Observed the lesson and, observed the students working in the lab.
10:25-11:40: English 30-2. Observed the students doing formal assessments. Read formal introduction papers done by the students.
11:50-1:00: English 20-1. Observed the lesson. Asked my mentor teacher questions that I had thought of so far.
1:00-1:30: Went with mentor to find other classes I could sit in on. -
Day Two
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school and met mentor teacher.
9:00-10:15: English 30-1 Observed class go over inferences and quotations.
10:25-11:40: English 30-2 Observed class working on creating thesis statements.
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1 Observed class work on a symbolism assignment.
1:00-2:00: Had lunch, asked teacher questions.
2:00-2:20: Asked mentor teacher questions about teaching.
2:25-4:00: Observed Spanish 9 -
Day Three
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school.
9:00-10:15: English 30-1 Observed the class work, answered some questions
10:25-11:40: English 30-2 Observed lecture, story review, helped out and observed work and watched a short film
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1 Handed out papers, observed the class work
1:00-2:20: Marked papers from 30-2 class, went over how I marked with my mentor teacher. Why I marked, what I was looking for ect.
2:25-4:00: Observed Science 14, helped out with the lab and instruction. -
Day Four
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school.
9:00-10:15: English 30-1 Taught an introductory lecture.
10:25-11:40: Photocopied booklets for the next the class and talked with another teacher about teaching
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1 Helped out in the class with group work.
1:30-2:25: Went home to get lunch, came back to eat
2:25-3:45: Observed Science 14, helped out with the lab and instruction. Talked about classroom management with the teacher of this course.
3:45-4:00: Talked about expectations for next week. -
Day Five
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school, prepared.
9:00-10:15: English 30-1 Observed the class work, listened to discussions.
10:25-11:40: English 30-2 Observed, walked around and talked to students about the assignment they were working on.
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1 Observed, did a short lesson/discussion.
1:00-2:20: Marked questions from the discussion lesson I did.
2:25-4:00: Observed Spanish 9. -
Day 6
8:15- Arrived at school
8:20-12:00: Watched keynote speakers present.
12:00-1:00: Had lunch.
1:00-2:15: Observed staff meeting.
2:15-2:45: Talked with my mentor teacher about what I observed today. -
Day 7
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school.
9:00-9:50: Observed English 30-1
9:50-10:45: Observed English 10-1 Advanced
10:45-11:50: Observed a department meeting about Grade 9's.
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1
1:00-1:30: Discussed the lesson for tomorrow that I would be doing, and other questions I had. -
Day 8
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school and prepared.
9:00-10:15: Marked questions for 20-1.
10:25-11:40: English 30-2 Introduced the personal response that was being written that day.
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1 Observed the class go through discussion, and helped review thesis statements
1:00-2:20: Had a discussion with my mentor teacher about lessons, asked questions.
2:25-4:00: Observed Science 20 -
Day 9
8:30-9:00: Arrived at the school, helped set up a lab.
9:00-11:30: Worked on a project for a class activity in 20-1.
11:50-1:00: Eng 20-1 Observed the class go through poetry.
1:00-1:30: Listened to discussion in the staff room and ate. -
Day 10
8:30:9:00- Prepared, asked questions.
9:00-10:20- English 30-1, observed.
10:20-11:30: Observed English 30-1 with another teacher.
11:30-11:40: Talked with mentor teacher.
