Start
When I first get a book I start to read the back. This will help me see if this book is a good choice. -
Read Intro if any
This is where I first open the book to see if they have a mini summary of what the book is about. This is often where they put cliffhangers to get you to read. -
Start to read
Once I start to read I like to see what I can predict for the ending. This is a way that I can keep myself engaged and eager to finish. -
After the first chapter
After the first chapter, I like to reflect on what I just read. This reflection will help me decide if I want to continue reading or stop. -
Continue
If I decide that I do like the book, I continue to predict what might happen in the story. -
Middle
Once I have read a good chunk of the book I like to reflect on the characters of the story. Often I put them into a mental note of who I like and don't like. This will help me see if they change throughout the book. -
A little after the middle of the book
After reaching a certain point, I like to go back to my mental note about the prediction and characters to see if they have changed. -
Character evaluations
Before reaching the end, I want to see who I disliked in the story and why. Often I find myself seeing that I disliked them for a bad reason and I often give them another chance. -
End
After I have finished the book, I like to reflect on it and see if it was as good as I wanted it to be. If I do like it, I tend to see more books by the author. -
Final thoughts
After each book, I look for books with different genres, just so that I can get a feel for everything. I like to expand my reading and see what else Is out there. I also like to see if I was right in the book I just finished to stop myself from potentially reading the same story again.
