Definition for the Gifted
The Marland Report was the first to define giftedness. The definition allowed schools to define students with academic and intellectual talents. This report was an eye opener for schools and how they perceive gifted students. -
7 Key Facts to Learning
Now that gifted education was being recognized and accepted from the founding father through being given a definition. Next, it was time to create a set standards for the program. The first set of standards promoting gifted programs was published by the National Association of Gifted Children in 1998. This was a set of procedures which included seven key areas for serving the gifted. This was a big step and gave teacher a set of rules to enhance their teaching of gifted students.
