Afterschool Jason goes over to Alicias house to play. They play some puzzles and then he goes home around 4.

Alicia Dies

Sometime after, Alicia's body is found in the woods covered up in leaves, bark, etc.

Braxton calls Trent

Braxton, a police officer, calls Trent, an interrogator the best too, to get Jason to confess to a murder he didn't commit. Trent accepts the task because he wants to move up in his job and wants to be more known.

Jason is Suspected

The reason Jason is suspected is because he was the last one to see her that afternoon. Police come to his house asking to see him and take him to the station for an interrogation.

Jason is at the Station

When Jason gets there both him and Trent meet. Trent says they are friends and he should feel comfortable with him. Again, Jason just think he is helping them out to try and find out who the murderer is because Jason is Alicia's friend. So he doesn't know that they think its him. They also have no physical evidence except for that he was the last one to see her before she died.

Interrogation

For half of the book, its the interrogation. Trent repeatedly lies to Jason about how they're friends and things that happened. He also know how Jason feels under pressure and decides to make him feel terrified of his own feelings. This helps Trent because it means Jason is at his lowest thinking. Tricking Jason's mind is when he'll start to look suspicious and overthink.

Jason "escapes"

Trent lets Jason know that it is okay for Jason to leave at anytime. But when Jason does, he looks even more suspicious and Jason starts to realize that he isn't getting treated how he thought he was. Trent said words like "you look more suspicious now" this makes Jason think, "why would I look suspicious in the beginning?" He starts to pay more attention.

Trent knows Jason isn't guilty

Although Trent knows that Jason isn't guilty.. it's his job to get a confession out of Jason, so he keeps going

Jason Confesses

I KNOWWW HE DID WHAT- Jason confesses because Trent got in his head and sad its the easier, safer way out. The truth wasn't there, the room had been filled with lies. Jason is the murderer.

Brad is the Murderer

I lied, Brad, Alicia's brother was the one who killed her. One of his friends sold him out.

Trent looses his job

Trent kept lying and lying. Jason is also a minor and wasn't there to be nice about it, he was just trying to his job. Although he got Jason to confess it wasn't right.

Bobo.

Did you think this book wouldn't stop with a cliffhanger? This bully that bullies Jason needs to be careful. The interrogation and the suspense that people have towards Jason that there is no way he could kill someone... GUESS WHAT. Jason at the end, after talking about where Bobo would be that day, picks up a butcher knife.
