  • Shay's Rebellion

    Shay's Rebellion was an armed uprising that tested the institutions of the fledgling United States which had just won the Revolutionary War, and under the Articles of Confederation was struggling to survive. Many of the nation's farmers were veterans of the war and were upset becuase of the heavy taxes. Many farmers concluded that the only course of action open to them was rebellion.
  • Constitutional Convention(First Meeting)

    delegrate representiong every state exept for Rhode Island convened a meerting in the Indepence Hall. They met to fix the Articles of confederation but insted just trew it away. Then they wrote the Constatution
  • The Great Compromise

    The Great Compromise was about a argument between large and small states and the 2 house legislature. Both houses were equal proportional representives. Also legislative branch makes the laws.
  • Constitution Signed

    The Constitution of the United States was signed by 38 of the 41 delegates present at the convention. As dictated by Article VII, the document would not become binding until it was ratified by nine of the 13 states.
  • Ratification by Delaware

    In Dover ,Delaware, the U.S. constitution is unanimously ratified by all 30 delegates to the Delaware the first state of the modern United States.
  • Ratification by Pennsylvania

    On this day in 1787, Pennsylvania becomes the second state to ratify the Constitution, by a vote of 46 to 23. Pennsylvania was the first large state to ratify, as well as the first state to endure a serious Anti-Federalist challenge to ratification.
  • Ratification by New Hampshire

    New Hampshire becomes the ninth and last necessary state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, thereby making the document the law of the land.
  • Inauguration of Washington

    The presidental election was held on Janaury 7,1787. the people were voting for John Adams and George Washinton. John Adams had second larger of votes but Washington won.
  • Ratification By Rhode Island

    Rhode Island refused to ratify the constitution. So the congress sent them a letter saying "Join or Die" and they finaly signed it.
  • Bill of Rights

    Federlist supporters had to create the Bill of Rights to be amened to the Constation and provide a guarantee of fundamental rights. Virgina became the last state to ratify the Bill of Rights.
