Elizabeth Tudor's Birth
Her father was King Henry VIII and her mother was Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth's birth caused an uproar in Elgland. King Henry VIII had hoped for a son, but instead he got Elizabeth. Nonetheless he showed her affection. He even demanded that Mary (his first daughter) relinquish her title as the Princess of Wales and to acknowledge both the annulment of his marriage to her mother and the new marriage with Anne Boleyn. -

King Henry VIII's marriage to Katherine Parr
Katherine Parr was a devote stepmother. She believed passionately in education and religious reform. So, she arranged to have the most distinguished tutors in England for Elizabeth and Edward VI (her younger brother). This is important because it might have been the spark that caused Elizabeth's love for learning and reading. -

Elizabeth's Coronation
After Mary's death, Elizabeth was set to be the new queen. On Jan. 15, 1559, she was coronated and officially became queen. This is important because it set the new era for Elizabeth's rule. She was given a country in poor condition and didn't have much either. She was set to have it return back to when it prospered (before Mary's rule). -

Death of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots
On this day Mary Stuart was beheaded after her imprisonment. This is important because for a while during Elizabeth's rule, Mary had shown signed of wanting to take the crown. However, she fled her country and expected Elizabeth to protect her, but Elizabeth knew that she was a threat. Eventually, a serious plot arose in Mary's name and she was executed. -
The defeat of the Spanish Armada
The Spanish Armada wanted to take over England and was defeated in August of 1588. This is an important moment in history because their defeat set the new awakening of England. -
The Golden Speech
It was her final parliament and it was thought that the subject of the speech were about the issues at the time, but instead it was about the love and respect she has for her country. I believe that this is important because I think at this point, that Elizabeth knew her rule was about to end. -
