On this day Christopher columbus had been at sea for 70 days. They did not however go to shore until the next day so they would be able to see the people. -

On this day is when the british army known as redcoats, started the invasion that started the revolutionary war. Paul revere road through towns and farms to warn people of the impending danger. -

The Missouri Compromise
After Missouri asked to join the union congress decided to OK it but they decided they must also make maine a free state. Congress also decided to to draw a line through the middle of the states so people would know where slaves were legal and illeagal. -
Bleeding kansas
During this time kansas decided to let her inhabitants decide if they would be pro or anti slavery. Many people flooded the state hopeing to influence it one way or another, this lead to blood shed between the two groups.
