Qing Recover Economy
After the wars in which the Ming were overthrown, the economy falled into despair. The Qing then started rebuilding. By the turn of the century, the economy was up and running. They resumed trading silk and other goods with the west. -
Qing Start Making Factories
In order to get more advanced, China started using ideas from the west. They made factories and built cannons and warships, giving them an edge. -
Empress Ci Xi Dies
Empress Ci Xi dies in 1908, leaving behind no stromg Qing leaders to heir the throne. It is given to 2-year-old Pu-Yi. This began to cause instability. -
End of Qing
Pu-Yi abdicates the throne, ending the Qing.
