During the first year of development, a baby is able to store memories. Though they may not last for very long term they still are present. A babies ability to remember and store memories grows monthly. When we would visit my grandmother and when she was to hold me I was told I would cry and cry until given back to my mother. I was able to remember who my mother was because I had memories of her and knew her -

As a baby, I developed a secure attachment to both of my parents. This meant that I obtained both comfort and confidence from my relationships with my parents. They helped to serve as a steady foundation from which I could explore the world.
