  • dred scott v sandford

so there was a slave and he was in a free state. so he claimed that he was there for free but his master said no he cant be a citizen. the court ruled that slaves were proporty and not people.
  • 13th amendment

it abolished slavery. i feel like writing 3-4 sentenses about why this is important would be stupid. no more slaves. afercan american people free. civil rights can now start.
  • 14th amendment

the due process one. anyone born in the us is a citizen. important because if everyone born here had to take a citizen ship test the u.s. wouldnt have citizens
  • 15th amendment

gave aftercan american men the right to vote. men being the most important word. huge step in civil rights for men. women still suck tho
  • Period: to

    jim crow laws

jim crow laws are that same thing that just got outlawed. super racist and started after troops left reconstrucion. these facts make me wonder if you u.s. gov gave a shit or gave no shits
  • plessy vs ferguson

so this was the case that ruled separate but equal. now that doesnt sound bad if you dont know what it means but let me ask you this. would you give someone you have a unreasonable hatred for the equal stuff as yourself. no? well rasist people agree
  • 19 amendment

this is voting rights again but women. so after so many years they can finally vote. not trying to be afensive but, i think it means someone if aftercan american men would get linched, were litterally enslaved, not consitered people and still they get to vote before the presidents wife
  • browns vs board of education

ok so i like this one pretty much a few African americans said the schools arnt equal and cant be even if they were copies cuz the walk is still way to long and all that. so the court said no more seprate but equal. then they started to shut down black only schools and making white only schools into everyone schools. this sounds good but then those black teachers in the black schools couldnt get work because white people didnt wantblack teachers.
  • civil rights act of 1964

this ended segergation in public places. great again for civil rights. now we just need women to vote cuz that all we need right? those years of unfair treatment and slavery dont effect social status even when tho there equals now right? people do consider then equal correct i mean the law said so-
  • voting rights act of 1965

so this one outlawed voting discrimintion. pretty much what im understanding is all those litteracy test that made it hard to vote.
  • affirmative action

this one was also explained poor, its a not discimination act but was decribed as the positive descrimition act. so im thinking it made it so if two people ha the same qualifications the minority gets hiered
  • reed vs reed

this one is simple, the ruling just stated that you cant desriminate based on sex dew to the 14th amendment. simple.
  • equal rights amendment

this pretty much made it illegal to decriminate based on gender. not much else to say. google said it was one of the shortest to pass and i not sure if they ment word length or time wise
  • regents of californa uni vs bakke

this one is confusing for me. so its asking if those questions on what race you are on collage admiion are constituinal. that said that they are BUT that a quota like 10 out of 20 is not good and bad
  • bowers vs hardwick

ok i love this one because i enjoy men. so georgia out lawed oral and anal sex in private. already wow. and clearly someone was caught having oral or anal sex. even funnier. then it gets ad because they did not defend gay stuff.
  • americans with disapility act

so this is just like every other equall rights act just for disabled people.
  • motor voter act

this is pretty confusing. i think it means that you can have an easier time renewing a divers lisence if your a registered voter.
  • lawerence vs texas

more gay stuff. this one how ever over turned bowers vs hardwick. stating what two(or more) consenting adults do in the private lifes are there rights
  • obergefell vs hodges

this one required staes to lisence and reconise same sex marrage. notice this happened in 2015. witch just goes to show the hate and discrimination gay people receved. its almost like its still around today
