Soon after, the temperance movement was in full force. The WCTU formed, The Prohibition Party became even more powerful. All kinds of Prohibitions, alcohol, tobacco, but the only one that ever caught on was the alcohol Prohibition. -
Kansas was the first state to have prohibition in its state constitution.

US Senate passes the Volstead Act
It was a major step towards the 18th amendment. The Volstead Act enabled legislation of the 18th amendment. -
18th amendment ratified!!
The amendment was ratified by 36 states and went into effect on the more powerful level. -
Volstead Act passes the congress
This etablishes the enforcement of prohibition. -
