  • Mann-Elkins Act

    This act allowed railroads to actively demonstrate that a rate was reasonable. With these new powers, the ICC gained almost complete control over rail rates, and therefore much of rail competition.
  • Federal Meat Inspection Act

    This act prohibited the sale of adulterated or misbranded livestock and derived products as food and ensured sanitary slaughtering and processing of livestock.
  • Hepburn Act

  • Federal Reserve Act

    The act was to protect the American economy by establishing prerequisites for a regulated government. the Fed manipulates interest rates to ensure that the supply of money on the U.S. market is equal to the needs of the market, preventing recession and inflation.
  • Federal Trade Commission Act

    This act was to have fair competition between businesses and protection of consumers against fraudulent business practices.
  • Clayton Antitrust Act

    This act defines unethical business practices, such as price fixing and monopolies, and upholds various rights of labor, Like the rights of labor to organize and protest peacefully.
  • Keating-Owen Act

    This act made Congress restrict child labor through its power to regulate interstate commerce. The act limited children's working hours and prohibited the interstate sale of goods produced by child labor.
  • Adamson Act

    This act established an eight-hour workday, with additional pay for overtime work, for interstate railroad workers.

    This prohibited the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors. But not the consumption, private possession, or production for one's own consumption.
