Interstate Commerce Act passed

Pullman Strike begins
May 11, 1894, the workers at the Pullman sleeping-car factory go on stike. The strike is supported by Eugene Debs, the head of the American Railway Union, and he encouraged all other union members to fight for reform in business.

Robert La Follette elected governor of Wisconsin
In 1900, Robert La Follette is elected the governor of Wisconsin. His reforms that he pushed in Wisconsin became the model for reform in all other states.
