Pendleton Act
It made it so that government jobs be based on the reward of merit and that government employees be selected through competitive exams. It also made it unlawful to fire or demote government employees for political reasons. It forbids that the government workers have to give political service or contributions. -
Meat Inspection Act
This was a law passed by Theodore Roosevelt that made sure the livestock was slaughtered and processed under the right conditions. It reformed the meatpacking industry and made the United States Department of Agriculture inspect all livestock before and after it was made for human consumption. -
Antiquities Act
It says that archaeological sites are important public resources. It is to save these important historical sites for the present and future generations. The Act grew out of concerns that developed over the course of the last quarter of the 19th century for the preservation of America’s archeological sites and the artifacts and information that they contained. -
Clayton Antitrust Act
It was made to further promote and clarify the sherman antitrust act. It was passed by Congress in 1914, meant to further promote competition in U.S. businesses and discourage the formation of monopolies. This act prohibited price discrimination, price fixing, and exclusive sales contracts. The act also legalized peaceful strikes and boycotts against companies. -
19th Amendment
It gave the same right for both men and women to have the same voting rights. It says that that right voting rights of citizens "shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
