    Unions
    In the late 1800's Unions began to form due to the unfair and unequal way workers were being treated and paid. This would later lead to acts and reforms being created and passed in the progressive Era to help the working class of America. They were created to make safer jobs with steady livable pay and fair treatment.
  • Environment Protection

    Environment Protection
    Teddy Roosevelt worked on the progressive idea of taking care and preserving the natural environment of the land. He went on to create multiple national parks and land preserves to help keep the animals and land safe from modernization and industrialization that would ruin the land.
  • Protection of Consumers

    Protection of Consumers
    Protection of consumers was also created as a result of the Progressive Era. Consumers who were worried about what they were buying were put at ease after multiple acts were placed that would require the products being sold to be checked and tested. This showed the American citizens that they were cared for and could trust the government to hear their voices about all matters.
  • Industrilization

    The Industrial revolution had a great purpose in the beginning of the Progressive era. As the Industrial Revolution was ending the people saw many problems that came out of industrialization. Things like crime, disease, social classes, and horrible politicians all pushed for a change to be made and the Progressive Era was set to begin.
  • Immigrants

    By the late 1800's and early 1900's millions of people immigrated to the United States. This caused a high population with minimal jobs and bad working places. reforms would need it be made to help the people survive. The many immigrants moving also changed the culture of the United States by integrating things they brought from home into the American culture. Immigration laws would be set in place to help with the change and this was part of the Progressive Era.

    The Great Migration led to many progressive ideals. This was a time when African Americans decided to take a stance on who they were and moved for the hopes for a better life. This would lead to the Harlem Renascence which showed how talented these people were and would also lead to different acts being passed to ensure equality and freedom for the African American's of America.
  • Growing Economy

    In the 1920's the roaring 20's were going on. Many people were enjoying new technology, entertainment, and inventions. The invention of credit was popularly used and people were focused on things they could buy. This was a part of the Progressive Era because after an economic crash would occur reforms would need to be made to ensure a stronger banking system and a limit to the use of credit.
  • Woman

    Woman
    Women were a hugely important part of the Progressive Era. They fought for progressive ideals and for their own freedom and fight for equality. After a long fight in 1920 the 19th amendment was created which gave women the right to vote. This was progressive because it gave the American woman equality.
  • Alcoholism

    Alcoholism
    In the 1900s there was a huge problem with alcoholism. Many women who were in the woman suffrage movement saw this and stood against it and many others were begging to see its harm. Soon the government saw that a progressive act needed to be in place to stop the rampage of overuse of alcohol. The 18th amendment which in the best interest of the American citizens caused the selling of alcohol to be banned.
  • Child Labor Laws

    Child Labor Laws
    As a part of the Progressive Era child labor was seen as a huge issue that needed to be dealt with. In 1938 an Act was passed which would prevent children from being placed in dangerous work places while being underpaid. The Progressive Era helped to protect the children from harmful damaging work they could not handle physically or emotionally.
