    A law to ban children younger than 14 to work in a factory. This foundation was to protect children. This proves to be protecting social welfare because it makes sure that children aren't working in dangerous places.

    This department started investigating U.S. steel, a gigantic holding company that had been created. Gave the ability to regulate big business without having to sacrifice economic efficiency.
  • Newlands Reclamation Act

    This law allowed the federal government to get involved in creating massive irrigation projects. This falls under urbanization because more people would travel there because of the supply of water.
  • Coal Strike of 1902

    Workers fought for higher wages and shorter hours of work. I think that this falls under Creating Economic Reform because it shows how big business men had more favorable treatment from government by not giving the people a voice.
  • Bureau of mines

    This was to investigate the working conditions in mines and to see if they were safe for children. This went with protecting social welfare so that these people were not being put into dangerous conditions
  • Northern Securities V. United States

    The government has more control over businesses over time.
  • United States Forest Service

    This changed the environment of the landscape to an urban one which caused drastic changes to economy. creating economic reform was the main goal for this because it corrupted public life.
  • Food and Drug Administration

    Consumers were less likely to become sick and could expect that products actually contained the ingredients on their labels. Companies had to charge more for their products from this, because putting labels on products cost money. This falls under protecting moral improvement because it shows how it prohibits drugs.
  • Meat Inspection Act

    Required federal inspection of meat sold through interstate commerce and required the Agricultural Department to set standards of cleanliness in meatpacking plants.
  • System of National Parks

    this was responsible for protecting 35 National parks and monuments that were managed by the department. As people saw industries destroying of natural resources and the loss of landscapes, a conservation movement developed.
