The German u-boats attaked the suppy ships on their way to the Britains and Russians. To protect the ships FDR gave the navy premission to attack in defence only, The german u-boats sunk the U.S.S Greer and he set up the "shoot on sight policy" -

Japan suprieingly attacked Pearl Harbor early that morning,which lasted hour and a half. Roosevelt anounced the next day a war. Hawaii is a state of the US. over 2000 people died and over 1000 people injured. Japan attacked because we cut off their oil embargo, and they wanted eastern domince.
