roosevelt wanted to break the 2 year term presidenty begun by washington and run for reelected. with disappointment of isolationists, Roosevelt’s Republican opponent, anexecutive named Wendell Willkie, supported Roosevelt’s policy of helping Britain. Both Willkie and Roosevelt promised to keep the nation out of war. the voters knew roosevelt more so they reelcected him with 55 percent of votes.
