    Terroist Attacks
    On September 11th 19 militants involved with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four american airlines and carried out suicide attacks on the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the world trade center, the third plane hit the pentagon in Washington DC, the fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania in a field. Over 3,000 people were killed during this event causing it to be remembered forever.

    Bush's ground zero speech is one of his greatest speeches ever taking place after the fatal event of 9/11. Bush gives this speech to speak to America in person on top of the ruble of the damaged building caused by 9/11.     The war in Afghanistan began after the invasion of the United States, going into this war the United States had its allies, the NATO nations. The goal of this war was to put an end to the al-Qaeda and destroy any safe base they may have for operations by removing the Taliban. George W. Bush demanded that the Taliban handed over Osama Bin Laden, but they denied, this led to further conflicts causing Bush to take action.

    The No Child Left Behind Act was a bill that passed law Jan, 8 2002 created by president George W. Bush. This act was to provide tests over math and reading grades 3rd through 8th. This was to help all children including the disabled to achieve academic proficiency. This gave students standards before moving on to the next grade level, students must exceed the grade they need to pass to move forward.

    George W. Bush surrounded with fellow congress declared state arms against Iraq on October 2nd this was known as the Iraq resolution. This declaration of war cites the many reasons as to why the US must go to war with Iraq. For instance Iraq's constant search and process of obtaining nuclear weapons, Iraq's damaged cilvilian population, and Iraq's al- Qaeda attacks on the US. Bush sought that they must be stopped.

    Space Shuttle Columbia self-destructs
    The explosion of the Columbia space shuttle was a tragic event that occurred 8.51 mins after the launching of the Columbia on February 1st, 2003. This was very fatal leaving no survivors after the explosion later leading to Bush's announcement of the recent events. Causing many lives to be effected that day. The Columbia exploded due to the over heating of the main engines causing them to shut down.

  • Operation Red Dawn

    Operation Red Dawn
    Operation Red Dawn is a American military operation formed on December 13th, 2003 in ad-Dawr, Iraq. The operation led to the capturing of the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. This mission was assigned the the 1st brigade combat team of the 4th infantry division. The squad was led by Col. James Hickey. After searching between the two sites "Wolverine 1" and "Wolverine 2" the division found Hussein hiding inside a spider hole.

    This was a report over the events leading up to the attacks from the al-Qaeda on September 11th, 2001. The crew interviewed over 1,200 people in 10 different countries. This included over two and a half million documents. This included security footage of hijackers that passed through air port footage, voice recordings from airlines flight 93 and eyewitnesses of passengers.

Bush wins with an electoral vote of 286 while Kerry holds 251. Bush wins with population vote of 62,040,610 and a percentage of 50.7%.

    Hurricane Katrina, one of the deadliest and costliest natural disaster in the history of the United States, lasted a total of 8 days. This storm is currently ranked as the third most intense US tropical cyclone with wind speeds reaching almost 200mph and mass flooding. The water reached 6-12 miles from the gulf, covering 90% of southeastern US. The overall fatality count was at least 1200 and caused a whopping $108 billion in property damage, roughly 4 times that of Hurricane Andrew in 1992

    Chief Justice Roberts- Supreme Court
    John Glover Roberts Jr. is the 17th and current Chief Justice of the US. On September 29, 2005, following the death of Chief Justice William Rehnquist, Roberts took his seat as Chief Justice after being nominated by President George W. Bush.

    On November 5, 2006, Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging for the killing of 148 Shiites from Dujail, in retaliation for the assassination attempt on July 8, 1992. Just before his verdict Hussein shouted "Long live the people. Long live the Arab nation. Down with the spies. God is great."

    On November 7th the Democratic party took control of the US congress during the midterm elections. The party won 230 seats out of the 435 seats in the house of representatives. They held a 51 to 49 margin in the senate.

    Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr., an American politician who served as the 38th President of the United States from 1974 to 1977 following the resignation of Richard Nixon dies at the age of 93 due to Cardiovascular Disease. Ford's Wife, formed a statement that confirmed his death."My family joins me in sharing the difficult news that Gerald Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has died at 93 years of age. His life was filled with love of God, his family and his country."

    On January 7th President George W. Bush deployed over 20,000 troops in Iraq cities Baghdad and Al Anbar Province. Bush called the surge " The New Way Forward" to provide security for the local civilians and help them with the issues they faced during the terrorist events. Providing the troops helped the decline in civilian lives as well as American soldiers as well.

    This act was to stabilize the US economy with the corrupt money crisis. This act authorized the US Secretary of the Treasury to spend $700 billion to purchase corrupt assets, mortgage backed securitites, and supply cash directly to banks.The act was proposed by the US Secretary of the Treasury and signed by President George Bush on October 3, 2008.

    Within two months of the book being published it sold over 2 million copies. Bush's book "Decision Points" was divided into 14 chapters the first two being about his life before the presidency. The remaining 12 were about the events he faced during his presidency.
