Fetal Developement:
-Size: At two weeks, the size of a pin head.
-Egg attaches to lining of uterus.
-Critical stage for brain and spinal cord developement.
-Internal organs and ciriculatory system begin form.
-The heart begins to beat. -
Month 2
Pregnancy Developement:
- Breast begin to swell.
-Pressure on bladder from enlarging uterus results in need to urinate more frequently.
-Possible nausea('Morning sickness')
-Fatigue. -
Month Two
Fetal Develpoement:
-Size: About 1/4 inch (6mm) long as month begins
-Face, eyes, ears, and limbs take shape.
-Bones begin to form. -
Month 3
Pregnanacy Developement:
-Breast become firmer and fuller, may ache.
-Nausea, fatigue, and frequent urination may continue.
-Abdomen becomes slightly larger. The uterus is about the size of an orange.
-Weight gain may total 2-4 pounds (0.9-1.8 kg)
Fetal Development:
-Size: About 1 inch (25mm) long as month begins.
-Nostrils, mouth, lips, teeth buds, and eyelids form.
-Fingers and toes almost complete.
-All organs present, although immature. -
Month Three
Fetal Development:
-Size: About 1 inch (25mm) long as month begins.

Month 4
Pregnancy Developement:
-Abdomen continues to grow slowly.
-Most discomforts of early pregnanacy, such asmorning sickness, usually gone.
-Appettite incresses.
Fetal Developement:
-Size: About 3 inches (7.6cm) long, 1 ounce (28 g ) as month begins.
-Can suck its thumb, swallow, hiccup, and move arround.
-Facial features become clearer. -
Month 5
Pregnancy Developement:
-Enlarged abdomen becomes apparent.
-Slight fetal movements felt.
-Increased size may begin to affect posture.
Fetal Developement:
-Size: About 6 1/2 inches (16-18 cm) long, about 4-5 ounces (113-142 g) as month begins.
-Hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows appear.
-Teeth continue to grow.
-Organs are maturing.
-Becomes more active. -
Month 6
Pregnancy Developement:
-Fetal movements sensed as strong kicks, thumps, and bumps. Some may be visible.
-Weight gain by the beginning of the month may total 10-12 pounds (4.5-5.4 kg).
Fetal Developement:
-Size: About 8-10 inches (21-25 cm) long, about 8-12 ounces (227-340 g) as month begins.
-Fat deposits under skin, but fetus appears wrinkled.
-Breathing movements begins. -
Month 7
Pregnancy Developement:
-Increases size may affect posture.
Fetal Developement:
-Size: About 10-12 inches (25-31 cm) long, about 1 1/2 - 2 pounds (680-907 cm) as month begins.
-Periods of activity followed by periods of rest and quiet. -
Month 8
Pregnancy Developement:
-Discomfort may result from increase size. Bachache, leg cramps, shortness of breath, and fatigue are common.
-Fetal kicks may disturb the mothers rest.
-At the beginning of this month, weight gain totals about 18-20 pounds (8.2-9.1 kg).
Fetal Developement:
-Size: 14-16 inches (36-41 cm) long, about 2 1/2 - 3 pounds (1.0-1.4 kg) as month begins.
-Weight gains continues rapidly.
-May react to loud noise with a reflex jerking action.
-Moves into a head-down position. -
Month 9
Pregnancy Developement:
-"Lightening" felt as the fetus drops into the pelvis. Breathing becomes easier.
-Other discomforts may continue.
-A total weight gain of 25-35 pounds (11.3-15.9 kg) is typical.
-False labor pains may be experienced.
Fetal Developement:
-Size: About 17-18 inches (43-46cm) long, 5-6 pounds (2.3-2.7 kg) as month begins.
-Weight gain continues untill the week before birth.
-Skin becomes smooth as fat deposits continue.
- Movements decrease as the fetus has less room to move.
