    There were no colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains but the colonists moved west anyway going against the Proclamation.
  • Sugar Act

    Taxes were created on foreign-made molasses in the hopes of Colonists would stop smuggling. Colonists continued to smuggle ignoring the Act.

    Stamp Act
    This Act required colonist to purchase special stamped paper fir every legal document. The Sons of Liberty harassed custom workers, stamp agents, and sometime royal governors.
  • Repeal of Stamp Act

    Parliament repealed the Stamp Act and to make its power clear they issued the Declaratory Act.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    What was once just a simple fight turned into five colonists being killed. Samuel Adams turned this situation to propaganda to show a British attack on defenseless citizens.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Colonists dumped 18,000 pounds of the East India Company's tea into the waters of the Boston Harbor to prove a point that they disagree with the Tea Act.
  • Intolerable Acts

    This is the response to the Boston Tea Party, Parliament shut down Boston Harbor, placed a Quartering Act to place the soldiers in homes, and placed Boston under martial law.
