Yalta Conference
This was a meeting between Churchill, Stalin, and Roosavelt. They came to many agreements. All of these agreements were to make the world a "Post War World". -
Potsdam Conference
This was the last meeting of the three "Big Heads". This meeting established many councils. It also came to various other agreements that helped make the world "Post War". -
The Marshall Plan
This was also called the European Recovery Program. It made 13 billion dollars to finance the European Economy. This helped get the European's confidence up in their country. -
Berlin Blockade
This was one of the first international crisis of the Cold War. The Soviet Union limited the ability of other countries to use their sectors of Berlin. -
Berlin Airlift
Used an airlift as a way to get supplies to Western Berlin. Western Berlin couldn't get supplies due to the Berlin blockade. -

Truman decided to look at his racism after the Holocaust. He created many civil rights to lessen racism in the U.S. -

This came as a great shock to the American's. This caused Truman to question the United States safety and caused him to build up our conventional and nuclear weapons. -

Ended the War in Korea. Strengthened Social Security and created new Industries. -
Communist Revolution in China
Chinese Communist leader created the PRC. This was People's Republic of China. This ended many upheavles that were present in China. -
Eisenhower Sends troops to Vietnam
He sent these troops to Vietnam to keep things steady for the U.S. after the win of the war. He wanted to lose no power. -
Korean War
75,000 Korean troops travelled across the 38th Parallel. This was the first military action of the Cold War. -

This hearing investigated the United States Army. It was said that they were soft on communism. -
Brown V. Board of Education decision is handed down
The courts unanimously overturned the Plessy Vs. Ferguson case of 1896. This overturned the "Seperate but Equal". The seperation made it unequal. This jumpstarted the Civil Rights. -

African American brutally murdered for flirting with a white woman 4 days earlier. Two men beat him nearly to death. -

African Americans refused to ride city buses. They refused to ride them due to the segregated seating. -

Little Rock Central High School Crisis
9 African American Students went into this school. Making it desegregated. -
John F. Kennedy Elected President
Elected at the age of 43. He was the youngest man elected. Also the first Catholic.
