Berlin Airlift
When the Soviet Union cut off all traffic and water to West Berlin to see if the Allies would give up West berlin or the idea of unifying Germany American and Britsh officials flew in supplies to West Berlin for eleven months with a plane landing every three minutes. Eventually the Soviets lifted the blockade. -

At the end of World War II the United Nations took up the matter of Palestine and the UN General Assembly voted to make Palestine a Palestinian state and a Jewish state. The terms of the partition gave Jews 55% of the area even though they made up only 34% of the population. All the Islamic countries voted agaisnt partition and Palestinians rejected it also. Cuban Missle Crisis
The soviets secretly built missle sites in Cuba and an American plane identified them and demanded them to be removed from Cuba.We then created a blockade in Cuba to prevent Soviets from installing more missles. This creates a greater chance for nuclear war. Finally the Soviets agreed to remove the missles if the United States did not invade Cuba. -
Arab-Israeli Conflict of 1967
Convinced that Arabs were about to attack the Israelis struck airfeilds in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, and Syria while Israeli ground forces attacked on three fronts. Israel defeated the Arab state in what became known as the six day war. -

In 1970 The United States created The Non-Proliferation Treaty in response to the arms build up of The Cold War. The goal of this treaty was nuclear nonproliferation, disarmament, and peaceful use of nucler energy. -

The fourth Arab-Israeli conflict started when a planned joint attack on the Jewish holiest holiday Yom Kippur. The Israelis were caught by suprise. Arab forces inflicted heavy casualties and recaptured terriotory lost in previous Arab-Israeli conflicts. -

When Shah of Iran flees Khomeini returns from being exiled and establishes an Islamic state. Khomeini hates the United States for supporting The Shah. Ayatollah Khomeini demands the United States to force The Shah to face trial and they take 60+ American hostages for 444 days. -

Chinese students protested the terms of The Versailles Treaty and demanded political reform. They wanted a Democratic change in government.
