Thesis
As both the Aztec, and the Inca grew, which began to grow around the 12th-14th centuries, they're political aspects changed and grew. The two empires dominated the region of Central America. Due to many wars, new political ideas and change in government roles affected politics greatly. Continuity arrose from the strong citizen classes that wanted to keep their governemnt strong through winning wars. -

Fall of Tula
In 1150 AD, a new political group was formed, the Rulas. This government fell in 1150 which started the growth of the Aztec empire. This affects the Aztec Empire by it forming new ideas from the Tolec, which still exist. This is a change because as time goes on, the Aztecs grew. This relates to the Thesis because it's a growth for the empire. -

Tenoch was a respected chief was elected to power by the council of elders. When he passed away, it was a great loss because he was a great and power religious leader of the Aztecs. In 1427 Itzcoatl gains power and rules the area of Tenochtitlan. He was a strong ruler that changed the government by taking back political power that was lost in wars with Aztec. This a change to the government because the Incas began to grow. This relates to the thesis because it's a growth of an empire. -

Creation of the Triple Alliance
An alliance of three Nahua city states, Mexico-Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Tlacopan. The three city states ruled in the same area around the Valley of Mexico. They were defeated by Spanish forces and decided to alliance. This is a change over time because it provides greater power to Aztecs and allows for more expansion and power later. This relates to the thesis because it shows how they can gain power and expand. -

Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui becomes leader.
Pachacuti became the leader of the Inca in 1438. He began to conquer nearby tribes and expanded the control and land of the Inca. He reorganized the government into the Tawantinsuyu and built the city Machu Picchu. This relates to the thesis because it shows the expansion of the empire and how power can be gained easily. This is a change over time because it sets a new government and keeps the government for a while and the empre continues to expand. -
