First non-Native American contact with Henry Hudson.

The Plains Cree Tribe were trading with the colonist and the Hudson Bay Company. They traded at a post by the Albany rive, Moose river, and Nelson river.

Now in the prairies, they became less dependent on the trading post. They over throw the Assinboin and take their land. The Cree and Assiniboin become enemies.

Start to trade with the Blackfeet tribe in 1790. This ended in 1810.

In the late 1800s, missionaries converted many of the Cree's to Christianity. The Cree also traded with both the English and French.

War started between the Blackfeet, Cheyenne, Cree, Crow, Dakota, Flathead, and Nez Perce tribes in 1840.

By 1860, there is a population of about 12,500.

By 1881, the buffalo are gone and the Cree are undergoing starvation.

The Cree are put into the Rocky Boy's Reservation in Montana with the Chippewa tribe.

Through the years 1920-1940 many of the people die from bronchitis, the flu, tuberculosis, and the whooping cough.
