Death of Feodor The Third
On May 7,1682, Feodor the third dies in his 6th year as czar. He was 20 years old. Only one czar contender stood in Peter's way.

Peter and Ivan are Crowned
On June 25,1682, Peter's half brother Ivan was in line to take the throne, to become Ivan V. Though he was sick like Feodor the third, he was ready to take a stand for Russia. Peter was crowned with him as Peter 1. This was to stop Moscow Uprising.

On November 21,1694, Voltaire was born. Born in Paris, Voltaire was a genius, most of his writings would lead to trouble. His books were against the law of the church. Like Peter The Great, He was a genius and would leave a mark on his name. He'd criticize his government. He wasn't afraid of anyone. He died from a disease.

The Great Embassy
On January 1,1697, Peter the great started the great embassy. The goal was to strengthen the Holy League. At "6'8" Peter went incognito using the name Peter Mikhailov. The great embassy failed to accomplish its main goal, but Pter gathered valuable information that would help westernize Russia.

The Great Northern War
On January 22,1700 The Great Northern War began. After securing peace with the Ottoman Empire, Peter wanted to gain more territory. This war was fought between Sweden's Charles XII versus a coalition led by Peter The Great. Sweden would end up losing the war and Russia became the leading power of the Baltic region and a true European power.

Treaty of Constantinople
On July 13,1700, the Treaty of Constantinople was signed between the Tsardom of Russia and the Ottoman Empire. It ended the 14 year long Russo-Turkish War. Peter the great joined the negotiations in person and concluded a two years truce with the Ottoman Empire.

Queen Anne's War
War from 1702 to 1713. This war was fought between Great Britain and France for control of North America. After Britain captured the key fortress of Port Royal in 1710. This was the deciding factor of the war and in 1713, The treaty of Utrecht. Britain acquired Newfoundland and the Hudson Bay.

Founding of St. Petersburg
On May 27,1703, St. Petersburg was discovered. It was built by Swedish prisoners from the Great Northern War. It became the capital of Russia for more then two thousand years. It was built in the honor of Peter The Great. It was capital of Russia until 1918 after the Russian Revolution of 1917.

On January 17,1706, Benjamin Franklin was born. Born into a candle and soap business. He would grow up to be a great inventor for his time and his inventions continue to help us to this day. He had a key role in the American Revolution as well.

On February 22,1711, Peter The Great established the Governing Senate. Peter wanted to reduce the influence of the Boyars. Making this Reform was able to be different from all other czars. He wanted to focus on military defense, collection of taxes and enforcement of class divisions.

On January 24,1712, Frederick The Great was born. He was a powerful King of Prussia, he won many battles and expanded Prussia. He succeeded in the Seven years war. He died on August 17, 1786.

Maria Theresa
On May 13,1717, Maria Theresa was born. She ruled the Holy Roman Empire. She started off shaky but created a strong military. She helped with education and she was a great mother. She died in her bed peacefully at age 63 on November 29,1780.

BlackBeard
On November 22, 1718, Blackbeard was killed. In North Carolina, he was hunted down and killed. Edward Teach, known as Blackbeard, he started the pirate business in 1713. In 1717, he captured a 26-gun French merchantman, he would call this the Quenn Anne's revenge. He was killed in a bloody battle of Ocracoke Island. He would die with thirty total ships captured.

The Death of Peter The Great
on February 8, 1725, Peter I passed away. Suffering from Uremia in the beginning of 1725, he fell into a coma. Later revealed his blatter was infected with gangrene. One of the Greatest Rulers of Russia died at the age of 52.
