    Peter the Great was born in Moscow, Russia. His parents were Alexis of Russia, and Natalya Naryshkina. He was the nominated heir ofcourse, he was the one that was going to be king of Russia. ("Synopsis")

    Some important people were dying, and they were known around the world for their famous work. Among those people was Moliere a French author. He focused on writing comedy, he was known all around the world for his silly sense of humor. (Timeline 1700-1724)

    Instead of invading, a lot of staes/countries were buying land, and they were pretty happy with it. For example, Massachussetts gained title or bought maine for 6000 dollars. This helped them have land more spread out among the country. (Timeline 1700-1724)

    Peter and his brother Ivan I ruled Russia successfuly, ofcourse Peter was much younger. His brother died in 1969, and left Peter alone. Then Peter had the freedom of taking the throne to himself. ("Early Rule")

    When Ivan I died, Peter's brother, he was officially declared king of all Russia. Peter took his rightful place on the throne. he wasn not going to leave Russia without a ruler or a king. ("Early Rule")

    Peter wanted to reform or westernize Russia like all the other European countries. He thought that Russia was isolated from western Europe. He wanted to discover more and more. ("Early Rule")

    Peter wanted to westernize Russia. So to learn about Western Europe, he went on a trip called the Grand Embassy. He explored, and visited many different countries for about a year. When he returned, he made pretty big changes to the country. He introduced the potatoe, he also introduced the first newspaper, and so on.("Sweeping Changes")

    The Earth has its nice, and harsh conditions, unfortunatlly, this was a harsh one. A magnitude 9.0 shook North California, Oregon, Washington, and British Colombia. This event not only devastated the people, but the land too. (Timeline 1700-1724)

    Peter was a great leader for many different reasons. One of them was military. He faught many wars. After all, he gained land in Estonia, Latvia, and Finland. Over all, he had a great army and was successful in many wars. ("Territorial Gains")

    Peter went a step further and established his own city. It was the capital city for over two centuries, and it still remains the country's cultural center. It currently has a population of 4.992 million people. ("Territorial Gains")

    Back then spreading the news around was very hard. So the first successful news-letter was established in Boston. So it was an easier way of spreadin news around so quickly. (Timeline 1700-1724)

    The winter in Europe is usually pretty cold, but this one was more than just cold. A sudden extreme wave of cold in Europe killed over 1000 people. This event could not be explained, it was very mysterious and no one knew why it happened. (Timeline 1700-1724)

    As good as a leader that Peter was, he still had some down sides to him. One down side was high taxes. That is a big one since people really dont like to pay to the government. People started revolting, and they started to get more angry. (Byers 253)

    Peter had as many as fourtenn children, but most of them died. As we all know, that before a king dies, he has to nominate an heir to take the throne after his death. In peter's case, it was different, he didn't nominate anyone to be an heir. He left Russia without a leader for about fifteen years. (Archibald 68)

    Death
    As we all know all lives come to an end. Peter's life was full of success, and kindness. He did many great things and some bad things, but over all he was a great leader, he also died in Russia.
