Peter Begins his Rule
Peter begins to rule and changes Russia.
On may 7 1682, Peter becomes co-ruler of Russia with his half brother Ivan V after the passing of Feodor III and a brief uprising of The Streltsy. The Streltsy movement demanded that Ivan V to co-rule with Peter. -
Early Reform of Russia
He created a strong navy, developed schools, placed control over the Orthodox Church, and introduced new administrative and territorial divisions of the country. -

Peter journied across western Europe from 1697-1698. Western Europe influenced better education, different cloths, and Russia's first newspaper. -
Peter's Relationship with England
King William III gave Peter a ship called the Royal Transport, as a gift. This relationship resulted in free access to Englands naval and military bases, including the gun factory at Woolwich. -
